Air Purifiers Tested was founded in 2023 by a team of longtime air quality enthusiasts, renters, homeowners, and consumer journalists who were tired of seeing air purifiers ranked by affiliate payout rather than real-world performance. Between us, we'd bought units that were too loud to sleep near, filters that clogged in weeks, and "top-rated" machines that made barely a dent in cooking smoke or pet dander. The reviews we trusted had let us down.
We started Air Purifiers Tested to fix that. Every product we cover is lived with in real homes, scored against transparent criteria, and cross-referenced against thousands of verified owner reviews — no paid placement, ever.
